Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy is for people in Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and other places with consumer health data laws, and for anyone who wants the detail. It adds to the Bellows Privacy Policy (bellowsfitness.com/privacy) and applies whenever you access or use Bellows. Using Bellows or accepting the Terms is never consent to collect or share your consumer health data: we ask for that separately (section 3). Bellows is for adults 18 and older in the United States, and we don't knowingly collect health data from anyone under 18.
1. The consumer health data we collect
- Heart rate, calories and workouts from Apple Health (only what you allow)
- Heart rate, cadence and workouts recorded by the Bellows Apple Watch app
- Birth year, gender, height and body weight (only after you turn on health data saving)
- How sore or fresh you mark each muscle on the recovery map
- Recovery and training load figures Bellows calculates from the data above
- Your health data consent choices and when you made them
We store no health data for guests.
2. Where it comes from
From you (what you type or choose in Bellows), from the Bellows Apple Watch app, from Apple Health on your iPhone (only what you allow), and from files you import.
3. Why we collect and use it
To show your training, track progress, set heart rate zones, and give progression, recovery and training load suggestions. We read Apple Health and record Watch heart rate only after you say yes on Bellows' own Health Data screen (Apple's permission screen comes after), and save your birth year, gender, height and weight only after you turn on health data saving. Your consent is never bundled into the Terms. We don't use it for advertising, marketing or data mining.
4. Who we share it with
- Artificial intelligence (AI) apps you approve by name, only after you approve each one, and for birth year, gender, height and weight only if you turn on "Connected AIs Can Read It" (off by default).
- Training partners you choose, only what you choose to share with each one.
- Our service providers that host Bellows for us: Supabase (database, sign-in, AI connection) and Apple (Apple Health and Apple Watch on your devices). Feedback you choose to send may include a screenshot; it goes through Resend to our Google (Gmail) mailbox.
We don't sell consumer health data. We have no affiliates.
5. Your rights
You can:
- confirm whether we collect your health data and see it, including the list of everyone it has been shared with or sold to (no one is sold anything);
- withdraw your consent by turning off health data in You → Privacy (this covers heart rate and Watch workouts as well as birth year, gender, height and weight), or Apple Health access in the iPhone's Settings → Health;
- delete it in the app (You → Delete Account), or by asking us. We delete it from our live systems and our backups, and tell our providers to delete it too.
Email privacy@bellowsfitness.com from the address you sign in with. We respond within 45 days (we may extend once by 45 days if needed and will tell you why). If we decline, you can appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject; we answer within 45 days. If your appeal is denied, you can contact your state's attorney general (in Washington: www.atg.wa.gov). You may have more rights under the laws where you live, and nothing in this policy limits them.
