Guide
Switch from Any App with Your AI
Your old app isn't on our list? Your history is in a spreadsheet, a PDF, a notes app, or a paper logbook? Give it to your AI, and your whole lifting history comes with you.
If Your AI Is Connected to Bellows
The fastest way. Your AI reads your file and brings the workouts straight into Bellows. Not connected yet? See Plan Your Workouts with AI.
- Get your data out. Your old app's export in any format, a spreadsheet, a PDF, text from a notes app, or clear photos of your logbook pages.
- Give it to your AI and ask: "Import my workout history from this file into Bellows."
- Check its summary. Before anything changes, your AI tells you how many workouts and sets it found, the dates they cover, and any exercises Bellows doesn't have yet, which it can add as your own.
- Say your go-ahead word. The workouts go in, oldest first. With approvals on, they wait for you on Today first.
It's saved as an import, so it counts toward your records like a Strong or Hevy file. Each part of the import can be undone in You → AI Connection → AI Activity, and sending the same workouts again skips the ones already in.
If It Isn't: A File Bellows Reads
Any AI that can read files works this way, connected or not.
- Give your AI your data with the prompt below.
- Save the CSV file it makes to your iPhone, in the Files app. Working on a computer? Save it to iCloud Drive and it shows up on your phone.
- In Bellows, go to You → Import and Export and tap Choose CSV file under Bring Your History from Strong, Hevy or StrengthLog.
- Check the preview. Bellows shows how many workouts and sets it found, the date range, and which exercises will be added as your own. If it looks right, tap Import.
The Prompt
Copy this into your AI along with your file:
Turn my workout history into a CSV file for the Bellows app. One row per set, with exactly these columns: Date, Workout Name, Exercise, Set Type, Weight, Unit, Reps, Seconds, RPE, Notes - Date: YYYY-MM-DD, plus the start time as HH:MM if known (2026-03-02 18:05). Every set in one workout gets the same Date and Workout Name. - Exercise: the common name (Bench Press, Back Squat, Pull-Up). - Set Type: warmup, working, drop or failure. - Weight: the number only. Leave it blank for bodyweight. - Unit: lb or kg. - Reps: the number of reps. Seconds: only for timed sets, like a plank. Leave either blank when it doesn't apply. - RPE: 1 to 10 if I recorded it, otherwise blank. - Notes: anything else, in quotes if it contains a comma. Only include sets that are in my data. Don't guess or fill in missing numbers. If something is unclear, ask me first. Give me the result as a downloadable .csv file.
Runs and Rides
- GPS files don't need AI. .fit, .gpx and .tcx files import directly, with route, splits, pace and heart rate: You → Import and Export → Runs and Rides from Other Apps.
- Runs in Apple Health come in from You → Apple Health.
- Only a list of dates, distances and times? A connected AI can import those the same way as lifting history, without maps or heart rate.
Good to Know
- Check the numbers. AI can misread a messy file or a photo. Look over a few workouts in the preview before you import.
- Undo. If something's off, undo it in You → AI Connection → AI Activity and try again. A file import is one Undo; a connected AI's import is one Undo for each part it sent.
- Safe to import twice. A workout that's already in is skipped.
- Your file goes to your AI. Whatever you give your AI is handled under its provider's terms and privacy policy, not ours.
