Hybrid Race Training in Bellows
Hybrid races mix running with work stations: run, station, run, station. Bellows times every segment, so you see exactly where the minutes go.
The Hybrid Race Simulation
Start it from Today → Start → Hybrid Race Simulation. Pick a template or build your own:
- Full: eight rounds of a 1 km run followed by a station, in the popular race order: ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls.
- Half: the first four rounds.
- Custom: any runs and stations you like. Change the run distance, reorder rounds, or set a round with no run.
During the Session
- Tap Done as each run or station ends. Bellows times every segment.
- Lock the phone if you want. Times come from saved timestamps, so locking the phone or closing Bellows loses nothing.
- Afterwards, log the actual weights and reps and fix any split you mistimed. It saves as one workout.
Templates you set up are saved as routines in a Race Simulations folder, so next time it's one tap.
Building the Rest of the Week
A hybrid week usually has run repeats, a stations circuit, a strength day and a long run. Bellows shows lifting and running together, and warns you when heavy leg work sits within about a day of a long run or a speed session. More on that in Lifting While Training for a Marathon.
If you use an AI assistant, ask it to lay out your weeks to race day. See Plan Your Workouts with AI.
